Places where I like to stay

Running a B&B is a blessing but sometimes I need a little vacation;  over the years I have found small ‘heavens’ where I can regroup and enjoy life «as a tourist»!  It is my pleasure to share with you these treasures that you may not have discovered yet.  All these individuals have been in the country long enough to be able to guide you and make sure that your stay in their area will be one that you will remember – in a good way!

    In Alajuela:

Berni and Nhi at Pura Vida Hotel http://www.puravidahotel.com/ are my good and faithful friends and they will make sure that your stay ‘almost at the airport’ be memorable.  Thanks to their help this website was born and I want to express my gratitude publicly for their continued support.

    In Esterillos Este, Pacific Coast:

Need a map to get there?  Good maps of Costa Rica

TOUCAN WATERPROOF MAP OF COSTA RICA

This is the one we use on our road trips in Costa Rica – and great for the rainy season too as it is waterproof. A good map of Costa Rica is essential in a country with few road signs and confusing directions. It is a great replacement for a GPS AND you get to meet more Costa Ricans (and ask them for directions..).

Inset maps include downtown San Jose, Alajuela, Escazu, Puerto Viejo, Tamarindo, La Fortuna and more. Index to help locate towns and cities.

ITMB WATERPROOF MAP OF COSTA RICA

This is the one we used to use before the excellent Toucan map came along – and still a very good waterproof map.  Particularly good with geographical features like mountains, parks and such.

Inset maps include downtown San Jose and greater San Jose. Index to help locate towns and cities.

and LET’S NOT FORGET GOOGLE MAP BELOW…
